The wild side

For nature lovers Lake Ginninderra has an abundance of bird life. A cockatoo colony can be found at Diddams Close near the Dog Park, wear ear plugs in the early hours of the morning when you visit! You can find a number of species of ducks at John Knight Memorial Park. There are black swans along the Emu Bank Foreshore and plenty of seagulls at The Promenade at Emu Inlet. You will find native species of birds living in Eastern Valley Way Inlet near the Belconnen Skate Park.

Eastern Grey Kangaroos live in the parkland at Diddams Close. There are also foxes that live along the foreshore of the Northern Peninsula. A Rabbit colony is found on the northern edge of Western Foreshore. There are also Possums located right around the Lake’s edge.
