Eatery Precincts

Lake Ginninderra has a number of Eatery Precincts just a short walk from the southern foreshore, starting from The Promenade right down to Eastern Valley Way Inlet along the Boardwalk.  Visit a Precinct below to find something new to entice you or find a family friendly eatery.

Northern Peninsula

The Northern Peninsula on Lake Ginninderra is a marvellous area to explore on its own. A walk around the Northern Peninsula will take about 45 minutes on the 2.5km trek. This provides enough time to stop at any of the three beaches, parks, forests or jetties scattered along the Pedestrian Path.

Naval Transmitting Station

In 1925, Canberra was recommended as the new centre for long-distance naval wireless communication. By the late 1930s, construction was well under way on a receiving and transmitting station. Nengi Bamir Beach

Nengi Bamir Beach is situated on Lake Ginninderra on the Northern Peninsula and forms part of Diddams Close Park. Nengi Bamir Beach is the largest of the two beaches at the Park. Swimming is permitted. Diddams Close Park has BBQs, Playgrounds and Toilet amenities.

Bimbi Beach

Bimbi Beach is an ideal place for a family picnic amongst the planted native and exotic trees whilst observing the many species of water birds. The adjacent park has a playground and BBQ facilities. Air Balloons

Lake Ginninderra is a favourite destination for Balloons taking off from Lake Burley Griffin. The best places to take photos are from Eastern Valley Way Inlet, John Knight Memorial Park and the Northern Peninsula Jetties.

Water Sports

Lake Ginninderra is the go to destination in Belconnen for all Water Sport activities.
