Every Saturday at 08:00am folk get together for a run/walk for their own enjoyment at Lake Ginninderra. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in whatever your pace!
From the start/finish line in John Knight Memorial Park, the Ginninderra Park Run course twists and turns northwards along the bike path, as we keep Lake Ginninderra to our left.
After about 1km, the route takes a left under Ginninderra Drive and then up a gradual ramp on to the far side of Ginninderra Drive, where we cross the bridge over Lake Ginninderra.
We take a right turn down the ramp on the other side of the lake, where the route carries on straight and follows the bike path along parallel to William Slim Drive, with the lake to our right.
We turn around at the marker and head back the way we came. When we reach the path to the bridge, we veer left along the water’s edge, still on the bike path, and back under Ginninderra Drive and then take a hard right up onto the other side of Ginninderra Drive.
We cross Lake Ginninderra (on the other side of the bridge to the outward route) and head back to the start/finish line in John Knight Memorial Park.
Every week we grab a post parkrun coffee at Birrigai Cafe, 2 Joy Cummins Place, Belconnen. A short walk from the finish line – please come and join us.
If you are looking for a regular group to run with or get some coaching to improve your overall fitness, the Fast Running squad train on a regular basis from Lake Ginninderra. Contact their Head Coach for more details.
